Mission Statement

We mature believers and prepare them for ministries

7 Core Values of ABC

This is who we are what we stand for:

  1. One soul matters (Lk 15; 2 Pet 3:9).
The one thing that matters most to God is the lost. It is the center of God’s attention. Therefore, it is the center of our focus.
  2. The Word of God for transformation (2 Tim 3:16-17).
We preach, teach, and live by the Word.
  3. We are called to impact the world (Mat 5:13-16).
We influence the world through reaching, teaching, and transforming
  4. Everyone is gifted to serve (Eph 4:12).
  5. Everything we do with excellence (Col 3:23-24).
We believe in quality. Therefore, we will do our best to achieve a higher standard of performance for God’s glory.
  6. Jesus’ Great Commission is our Great Mission (Matt 28:18-20).
We believe in making disciples to make disciples (Make one to make one).
  7. We are called to love God and people (Matthew 22:37-40).
The Greatest Commandment demands our attention, effort, time, and inspiration.

Rev. Long (Mike) Nguyen

After graduating from high school, Rev. Long (Mike) Nguyen worked five years at Kmart as a department manager.  He resigned and attended Northwest Baptist College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies in 1998.  On his graduation day, he was called to serve at Thien An Baptist Church in Seattle, WA as an associate pastor.  Two years later, Rev. Nguyen accepted a senior position at the Vietnamese Baptist Church of Olympia.  After serving for a number of years at the church, Rev. Nguyen then moved to Arlington Texas to pursue higher education in 2005.
In 2007, he graduated with an advanced Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  A few years later, he earned his Master of Sacred Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary.  God has called him into the Gospel Ministry.  He was licensed to preach in 1999 and ordained in 2003 and has been serving as a full time pastor since 2000.  Rev. Nguyen serves at VNBCA as an associate pastor from 2005 to 2015.  During this time, Rev Nguyen also served as an adjunct professor at VBTS teaching New Testament Survey and Ephesians.  Since March 2017, God has called him to plant a church.  By God’s grace, the church has been established and it is called “Arlington Bible Church.”

Rev. Nguyen migrated to Canada with his family in 1983 when he was 11 years of age.  He accepted Christ when he was a teenager.  He married to his wife, Linh Do, in 1995.  Now, they have three awesome children: Nathan, Jonathan, and Tallya.  He loves many things in life such as sports and music.  However, he loves nothing more than studying the New Testament.  He resolved to know nothing except Jesus Christ (1 Cor 2:2).  His desire is to live for the glory of God (1 Cor 10:31; Isa 43:7).
